Guests can enjoy total peace and comfort at Kingman Place year around. The first home built on Spirit Lake, this historic location provides a large lawn sloping toward the lake. Take time for relaxing on the boathouse deck or swim from the end of the dock. This truly is a place where yesterday's charm meets today's pleasures

" . . . a big, white, century-old home surrounded by oaks and maples full grown in 1862. A sprawling lilac bush, a favorite of Mrs. Kingman's, still flourishes each spring beside the front steps, and in the neighboring woods a clear stream, old as time itself, flows down to the lake."

As you enter you will find spacious rooms furnished with simple elegance, and named after the Kingman daughters. Each room provides a queen size feather bed, sitting area, robes, CD player and a private bath.
Enjoy a candlelight breakfast served in the dining room each morning.

Follow Hwy. 9 into Spirit Lake. Turn north on Peoria Ave. (stoplight at Hy-Vee corner) and go over railroad track to 4-way stop. Continue north 1 mile to stop sign at south shore of Spirit Lake. Turn left on 240th Ave. and go 1/4 mile to Kingman Place. Sign at end of driveway.
