Cahoy Well & Pump Service has been in business since 1952. We believe that our success in the well and pump business is directly attributed to our philosophy that the customer comes first through commitment and dedication to personal attention. We have grown into a multi faceted company providing service throughout the Midwest region. We plan on continued growth based on relationships with our customers and the valued services we provide.
We are a Master Groundwater Contractor as recognized by the National Water Well Association, have 8 certified pump installers, 4 licensed drillers, and 5 foremen that are 40 hour HazMat certified. Our crews are also certified in CPR/First Aid.
Our organization began in 1938 as a company known as Milne & Chase. The company erected windmills and installed reciprocating well pumps commonly known as "stroke pumps" that were powered by the windmills.
In 1946, John Cahoy began employment with Milne & Chase. He purchased part of the company with William Mueller in 1952, and company became known as Mueller & Cahoy.
The advance of rural electric cooperatives brought electric motors to rural wells, and allowed Mueller & Cahoy to begin installing pressurized systems for such wells, as well as lineshaft turbines for municipalities in northeast Iowa.
In 1979, Duane Cahoy purchased William Mueller's share of the business and the company became known as Cahoy, Inc. While the name has changed, our philosophy on business has remained the same: personal attention, dedication to quality, and ever-expanding knowledge and service.
