The Cedar Bend Humane Society commits itself to providing humane care for all animals under its protection, educating the community about responsible pet ownership, and advancing the cause of kindness to all animals.

Note: Black Hawk Animal Control's NEW hours of operation are 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. seven days a week.

We have launched a 'Build Us a Home' capital campaign to expand and upgrade our facilities. More... We need your help!

The Cedar Bend Humane Society not only shelters homeless animals, we provide animal control services to the cities of Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Black Hawk County. These entities all contract with us to enforce the ordinances within the cities as they relate to animals.

The Black Hawk Animal Control is an entity of the Cedar Bend Humane Society and is run out of an office located at: 1166 W. Airline Hwy, Waterloo, IA 50703.

We're pleased you're here at the Cedar Bend Humane Society to choose a pet. Our goal--which we're sure you share--is to find a new, permanent and loving home for each animal.
Your answers to the questions on the adoption form will help us decide, with you, which pet would be the best fit. We appreciate you taking the time to fill this out; it will be reviewed with you by a staff or volunteer Adoption Counselor.
