Cedar Valley Friends of the Family Endowment The Cedar Valley Friends of the Family Endowment Fund has been established in an effort to provide sustained long term funding for services to the community. As a private, no-profit victim advocacy agency serving Bremer, Butler and Chickasaw counties, Cedar Valley Friends of the Family provides free and confidential services for persons affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as homelessness.

Your tax deductible gift will help ensure that shelter, hope, and healing is available to those in need, as well as help us continue our efforts to provide prevention education and empowerment to thousands of area children each year in the hope that they will not be victims of abuse.

What we are
Cedar Valley Friends of the Family (CVFF) is a private, non-profit victim advocacy agency serving Bremer, Butler, and Chickasaw counties. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the agency began providing services in August of 1992. A group of hard working community volunteers established the agency though the local Church Women United group. Today CVFF continues to depend on a strong base of committed volunteers who are willing to become trained to assist the agency in providing 24-hour crisis and emergency services. These individualized, confidential services are available free of charge to all persons who are victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault.

Fundraising Since 2003, Cedar Valley Friends of the Family has experienced nearly a 450% increase in Nights of Shelter provided. Since 2001 the agency has seen a 12% decline in state and federal funding.

Of the 14 competive grants CVFF seeks, eight require cash matches totaling more than $80,000 annually. For these reasons, the agency has developed ways to decrease our dependence upon government funding, and increase our self-sufficiency.
