Three Solas are our Lutheran Confession Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, and Sola Scriptura.
We believe, as the Bible teaches, that “all sin and fall short of the glory of God,” and therefore all need Jesus as Savior. Admitting our sins, we rejoice in the “Good News,” that “we are saved by grace through faith and this is not our own doing; it is the gift of God.” (Eph. 2:8) We summarize our faith this way:
“We receive forgiveness of sin and become righteous before God by grace for Christ’s sake, through faith, when we believe that Christ suffered for us and that for His sake our sin is forgiven and eternal life is given to us.”
What do Lutherans teach? Scripture Alone.
We teach the Bible is without error, just as Jesus himself taught, saying,
“Thy Word is truth.“ (John 17:17)
“Therefore, we believe, teach and confess that the prophetic and apostolic writings of the Old and New Testaments are the only rule and norm according to which all doctrines and teachers alike must be appraised and judged.”
What do Lutherans Confess? The Means of Grace: Word and Sacrament.
With the Apostle Paul, “We preach Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Cor. 1:23)
It is this message, that Christ died for sinners, which is the heart of our public confession. We believe that salvation comes only by faith, given by the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Gospel and the administration of the Sacraments.
We believe God’s inerrant Word and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion are the “Marks of the church” which binds us together in a common confession of Christian faith. We also recognize the importance of God's gift of the "keys" and joyfully keep alive the practice of private confession and absolution.
We invite you join us for Christ-centered Divine Service of God’s Word and Sacrament, using the historic liturgy of the Christian faith.
