We are in the process of building the Free HomeRun Help Network. Here's a link to our new forum site for questions, answers and a place to start at: HomeRun's Computer Help Network
Finally, you'll be able to ask a question and get an answer from a friend, rather than a stranger or a computer file or hard to navigate forum. And hopefully an answer that is understandable and easy to apply.
As you ask your question, and while waiting for an answer, look at the other questions, and if you see something you know the answer to:
You ask for help, and just as importantly, offer it when you can.
One friend helping another. No GeekSpeak or Techno-babel allowed, just regular everyday computer users helping each other. This could be like 'Ebay' for computer help and assistance.
Everyone knows a little about these machines, and everyone needs someone else's knowledge on occasion.
Please tell your friends, don't wait till they ask, tell them today about this idea. Encourage them to send us their name and email address and we'll add them to our list of members. It is a free service for all and may become a valuable resource for everyone.
Hopefully like a pyramid scheme, one person will tell a few others, they in turn will tell more, and before you know it we'll become legion in numbers.
The difference is "it's free", and "it's helpful".
Everyone will benefit.
For this to work though, we need 'eyeballs' (members). The more people who know about this service, the more who will use it to get answers to their problems and at the same time have a chance to see others' questions that they may be able to help with.
Afraid you won't know enough to be of help to someone else?
Do you know how to signup to FaceBook?
Do you know how to change your desktop background?
Do you know how to attach a photo to an email message?
Do you know how to maximize or minimize a window without closing it?
Do you know how to burn an audio CD?
Do you know how to move the taskbar back down to the bottom of your desktop?
Do you know how to .... fill in the blank....?
These are 'easy' if you know how, but until you do they can be frustratingly mysterious. If you know how to do something, I guarantee, someone else, perhaps a friend of yours, doesn't yet. They will be grateful, you'll feel warm and fuzzy. Everyone will benefit.
You Can Help! Yes, even YOU!
And we can all learn in the process.
Join us today and bring a few friends along with you.
Ask them to mention your name, so we can keep track of who our real helpers are.
Spread the word. Share the knowledge! Join us today....
Oh and by the way, this isn't limited to the technologically challenged. Geeks and Nerds are welcome too. In fact your skills and knowledge will be of great use to the rest of us . We all need help every once in awhile, right?
