What is sin?
Can you give the definition from God's word?
Look at 1 John 3:4: “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Some say the law was done away with. Without law we can't sin; and do not need a saviour. Therefore, Christ's death was in vain.
The Bible must harmonize. Two sets of laws were given but only one was nailed to the cross, the one that was added as a yoke and the substitute remedy for sin. Christ died once as the perfect sacrifice therefore, the sacrificial law is no longer needed.
Any law that defines sin remains in effect and is being broken by man, especially the ten commandment law, and being taught that it is all right to sin, in fact we can't help it. (The Devil made me do it you know). Do we have such a weak God that he cannot give us the power to quit sinning?
God requires us to be like Him:
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Pet 1:16
It has been said all Christians sin and can sin all they want and still be saved. Nowhere in God's Word does it say that God's people will be saved if they continue to sin.
To the contrary:
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9
“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Rev 21:8
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” Heb 10:26
Can sincerity combined with false beliefs and practices count for righteousness? Although sincerity is praiseworthy and is necessary for faith, it is not an acceptable substitute for truth.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Mat. 7:21-23
Again we look at 1 John 3:4: “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
