Weheld our first ever TCR Underground Festival this weekend, performing one evening to astanding room only crowd. Besides bringing exciting theatre to the stage, and providing dozens of volunteer opportunities, the Festival was intended as away to select an entry to the Iowa State Community Theatre Festival at the end of March. Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre to present Tosca
Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre will present Tosca January 14 and 16 atTCR.
The acclaimed three-act Italian opera by Giacomo Puccini is amelodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples control of Rome threatened by Napoleons invasion of Italy. It includes some of Puccinis best-known lyrical arias, and has inspired memorable performances from many of operas leading singers. More than acentury after its creation, the dramatic force of Tosca and its characters continue to fascinate both performers and audiences. readmore
