Alternative Christmas Market

Singing is an important part of the worship life of many Christian communities throughout the world. St. Andrew is no different. We are blessed with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs composed by brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world and across the ages all written to give glory to God and crafted to allow us to express gratitude, praise, and lament to the God who creates, redeems and sustains. St. Andrew is a community with diversity – a diversity of faith backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. Therefore, our songs, our hymnody, naturally reflect that diversity. During the past decade, we have made a purposeful effort to incorporate this music into the worship life at St. Andrew. Some hymns and songs are found in our denominational hymnal, The Presbyterian Hymnal, and our hymnal supplement, Sing! A New Creation. International Women’s Club Joins in Partnership with St. Andrew
Oct 11th, 2010 by PK | 0

This fall St. Andrew was happy to welcome women from many points on the globe for conversation in English on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Each fall and spring, the International Women’s Club of Iowa City has hosted English conversation classes for women who come to Iowa City from non-English speaking countries. When the customary host site for their classes, Iowa City Mennonite Church, began undergoing extensive renovations, a new site was needed for this year.
Here is a recent thank you and invitation from the International Women’s Club: Thank you and invitation from IWC 102010
