On behalf of Zion Lutheran in Hiawatha, Iowa, welcome to our Web Site. We pray this site will be useful for all people who seek to learn more about Christ and deepen their knowledge of his love and grace.
We live in a time of needless uncertainty about God. Unfortunately this uncertainty is celebrated by modern culture. The popular image of God today is that He is whatever we imagine Him to be. No matter what religious faith you belong to, people will claim that we are all worshiping the same God. We reject this approach to faith.
We believe that God has revealed who He is in the Holy Scriptures, and ultimately in the person of Jesus Christ, the "Word that became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14). We believe that God wants us to be certain about the promises He makes to us in the Gospel, and the life He calls us to lead in this world. We take seriously the commission Christ gave us to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), baptizing them in the name of a specific God who has revealed Himself as "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit", and teaching "everything" Christ has commanded us. To that end, we dedicate this Web Site, and the ministry we conduct through our congregation. If you live in the area we invite you to visit us on Center Point Road just one block north of Blairs Ferry Road.
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
