Around the corner you'll find another new shop, The Red Poppy. Open on weekends only, this delightful shop features many fine gifts.
Oelwein is also home to two fabulous art stores on Frederick. The Guild features local artists and is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday while the Gallery of Art features artists from northeast Iowa and is open daily.
While you're on Frederick, also stop at Flowers on Main and going south find Buds and Blossoms. More gifts and flower arrangements.
Back on the main street, you'll find VanDenovers Jewelry.
Lunching options abound with Leos Italian Restaurant, First Garden and the Panda House for Chinese, Las Flores for Mexican, Mercantile on Main for sandwiches, Two Brothers for a more traditional fare...all on the main street of town. Thanks to all who took the Healthy Oelwein Survey. The results are in and will be analyzed at the next Healthy Oelwein meeting. Look for the results to be published within the next couple of weeks.

Be sure and check out the Oelwein's School Communique. It's packed with information! This month's issue contains a very clear explanation of school finance and why the school board can discuss school building repairs and upgrades, but can't add staff at the moment.
